Growing Up

This was my first tattoo and was done by David Hale from Love Hawk Tattoo out of Athens, Ga.  The design for the tattoo was inspired by the art of Hamilton Yakota (aka TitiFreak), and was brought to life by my tattoo artist.
Ever since I can remember, I have been intrigued by tattoos.  I always wanted to experience actually being tattooed, and told myself I would only do so when I found art worth adding to my skin forever.  18 months passed between when I found the artwork and when I was tattooed, and the wait was absolutely worth it.

I got this tattoo about a week after my 18th birthday. I saw a picture of a hibiscus flower when I was 8 and I just fell in love. I got it at Rebellious Addiction in Mesa, AZ by Tony. I loved my tattoo artist, he made my 1st tattoo experience great.

This is my latest tattoo, a peony for my mom. I planned it the day we found out she beat her cancer, and I got her favorite flower in all of her cancer colors, navy for colon, teal for uterine, and purple.
It is my fourth tattoo and my third done by Catmouth Steve at Gypsy Kings in Commerce, MI. He has a really gentle hand, and it hurt less than I imagined it would.
I wanted to wait until it was healed to send a photo, but I got too excited!

My fourth tattoo is the cover of issue #19 of the Chamber Of Chills horror comic book/magazine, printed in September 1953. I got this tattoo to help me through a rough time in my life & hoped that upon completion, everything would be okay again. After 4 sessions, it’s taken a little over a year for me to finally get this tattoo completed & I can’t even begin to describe how happy I am, not only with the tattoo but also with my life. I had this tattoo done by a family friend that currently works out of his house.
